Information on Data Processing
This data protection statement contains information about the processing of users' data by GSQ.
GSQ processes users' data in compliance with all applicable data protection regulations. We comply with data protection law when processing personal data. Therefore, as a rule, we process users' data solely for the purposes explained in this data protection statement and for the purposes specified when the data was collected. These purposes primarily include processing purchases and providing, personalizing, developing, and securing our services. In addition, under European data protection law, we also use users' data for other purposes, such as product development and market research, optimizing business processes, tailoring our services to users' needs, and personalized advertising.
In addition to device and access data recorded each time these services are used, the type of data processed and the purposes of processing depend in particular on how users use the functions provided by our services. We also use data recorded while our services are being used to determine how users use our online offering. We use this information, among other things, to personalize shopping experiences, optimize our services, and provide personalized advertising.
GSQ has profiles on the social networks Facebook and Instagram (known as “fan pages”). We regularly publish and share content, offers, and product recommendations on our fan pages. The operators of social networks record users' behavior using cookies and other similar technologies whenever users interact with our fan pages and other Facebook and Instagram websites. The operators of the fan pages have access to general statistics concerning the interests and demographic data (such as age, gender, and region) of users visiting the fan pages. When using social networks, the scope and purposes of data processing on those networks are determined by their operators.
Newsletter:
After subscribing to the newsletter, users will receive recurring advertising and promotional content. Newsletters associated with specific services and forming an integral part of those services are also available.
In connection with our services, we present information and GSQ products offered based on users' interests. Regardless of whether users subscribe to the newsletter, we may send them a limited number of individually selected recommended products, surveys, and requests to add a product review. In accordance with applicable regulations, we most often use data concerning previous orders when determining individually selected recommended products.
We use data provided when ordering GSQ gift cards to verify and process the order and to send and fulfill the card. This also includes recording and processing data related to the use of the gift card, in particular to prevent fraud.
We and our advertising partners use users' data to create personalized advertising displayed in GSQ services and on the websites and in the apps of other service providers. For this purpose, we and our advertising partners use internet technologies that are widely used in the market. This enables us to provide individualized advertising and, wherever possible, show users only advertisements and offers that are genuinely interesting to them. It allows us to better adapt to our users' needs through personalization and the selection of new products, and to create lasting user interest in our services through a more individual shopping process.
GSQ transfers users' data only where permitted under Polish or European law. We cooperate with logistics companies (e.g., courier companies such as DHL). As a rule, these service providers may process users' data on our behalf only under specified conditions. If they act as our data processors, they access users' data only to the extent and for the period necessary to provide the specified service.
Subject to certain statutory requirements, users have the following statutory data protection rights: the right of access (Article 15 of the General Data Protection Regulation), the right to erasure (Article 17 of the General Data Protection Regulation), the right to rectification (Article 16 of the General Data Protection Regulation), the right to restriction of processing (Article 18 of the General Data Protection Regulation), the right to data portability (Article 20 of the General Data Protection Regulation), the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Article 77 of the General Data Protection Regulation), the right to withdraw consent (Article 7(3) of the General Data Protection Regulation), and the right to object to certain data processing activities (Article 21 of the General Data Protection Regulation). We retain users' personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes specified in this data protection statement, in particular to fulfill our contractual and statutory obligations. We may also retain users' personal data for other purposes, for example, as long as the law allows us to retain it for specific purposes, including defending against legal claims.
We transfer users' personal data securely using encryption. This applies to the ordering process and customer login. We use SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. In addition, our websites and other systems are protected by technical and organizational measures against the loss, destruction, access, alteration, or dissemination of users' data by unauthorized persons.
