Information on Data Processing
This data protection statement contains information about the processing of users’ data by GSQ.
GSQ processes users’ data in compliance with all applicable data protection regulations. We comply with data protection laws when processing personal data. Therefore, as a rule, we process users’ data exclusively for the purposes explained in this data protection statement and for the purposes specified when the data is collected. These purposes primarily include processing purchases and providing, personalizing, developing, and securing our services. In addition, under European data protection law, we also use users’ data for other purposes, such as product development and market research, optimizing business processes, tailoring our services to demand, and personalized advertising.
In addition to device and access data recorded whenever these services are used, the type of data processed and the purposes of processing depend in particular on how users use the features provided by our services. We also use data recorded while our services are being used to determine how users use our online offering. Among other things, we use this information to personalize the shopping experience, optimize our services, and provide personalized advertising.
GSQ has profiles on the social media platforms Facebook and Instagram (known as “fan pages”). We regularly publish and share content, offers, and product recommendations on our fan pages. The operators of these social media platforms record users’ behavior using cookies and other similar technologies whenever users interact with our fan pages and other Facebook and Instagram websites. The operators of the fan pages have access to general statistics concerning the interests and demographic data (such as age, gender, and region) of users visiting the fan pages. When using social media platforms, the scope and purposes of data processing on those platforms are determined by their operators.
Newsletter:
After signing up for the newsletter, users will receive recurring advertising and promotional content. Newsletters related to specific services and forming an integral part of those services are also available.
In connection with our services, we present information and GSQ products offered based on users’ interests. Regardless of whether users sign up for the newsletter, we may send them a limited number of individually selected product recommendations, surveys, and requests to submit product reviews. In accordance with applicable regulations, we most often use data concerning previous orders when determining individually selected product recommendations.
We use data provided when ordering GSQ gift cards to verify and process the order and to send and redeem the card. This also includes logging and processing data related to the use of the gift card, in particular to prevent fraud.
We and our advertising partners use users’ data to create personalized advertising displayed in GSQ services and on the websites and in the applications of other service providers. For this purpose, we and our advertising partners use internet technologies that are common in the market. This enables us to provide individualized advertising and, where possible, show users only advertisements and offers that are genuinely relevant to them. It allows us to better meet our users’ needs through personalization and the selection of new products, and to generate lasting interest in our services through a more individualized shopping experience.
GSQ transfers users’ data only when permitted under Polish or European law. We cooperate with logistics companies (e.g., courier companies such as DHL). As a rule, these service providers may process users’ data on our behalf only under specific conditions. When working for us as processors, they gain access to users’ data only to the extent and for the period necessary to provide the specified service.
Subject to certain statutory requirements, users have the following statutory data protection rights: the right of access (Article 15 of the General Data Protection Regulation), the right to erasure (Article 17 of the General Data Protection Regulation), the right to rectification (Article 16 of the General Data Protection Regulation), the right to restriction of processing (Article 18 of the General Data Protection Regulation), the right to data portability (Article 20 of the General Data Protection Regulation), the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Article 77 of the General Data Protection Regulation), the right to withdraw consent (Article 7(3) of the General Data Protection Regulation), and the right to object to specific data processing activities (Article 21 of the General Data Protection Regulation). We retain users’ personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes listed in this data protection statement, in particular to fulfill our contractual and statutory obligations. We may also retain users’ personal data for other purposes, for example, for as long as the law permits us to continue storing it for specific purposes, including defending against legal claims.
We transfer users’ personal data securely using encryption. This applies to the order placement and customer login processes. We use SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. In addition, our websites and other systems are protected by technical and organizational measures against the loss, destruction, access, alteration, or dissemination of users’ data by unauthorized persons.
